Landforms are physical features on the earth’s surface that are always changing.  The earth’s surface is always changing due to forces such as:  water and waves, wind, ice, mass movement, and plate tectonics.  Common processes that change most landforms include weathering, erosion, and deposition.  Weathering is the breaking down of rock into smaller matter like soil, sand, clay, and silt.
